As we were able to spend some time in each of their birth countries, we found the Lord gave us a deep love for other cultures. We have also found that as we opened our hearts to what is close to God’s heart (care for orphans), God has given us more of His heart for the world. We have not been able to forget about the needs of the poor, the fatherless, and those who are not in the Kingdom.

FORWARD FOCUSED, OUTWARD BOUND
Stacey and I were both raised in Homer, Alaska. As I was growing up, God’s heart for missions was emphasized by my parents, and was burned on my heart and mind by an excellent missions course I took while attending Alaska Bible Institute.
After graduating from Alaska Bible Institute in 1993, Stacey and I were married. We had two “homegrown” boys Ethan and Tyler, and then decided to adopt. Our first adoption was Kailee from Vietnam. We very much enjoyed our time in Hanoi, Vietnam. Our second adoption was Alyssum from South Korea. During this whirlwind we were only able to spend 6 days in Seoul. Our oldest, Ann Marie and youngest, Adams were adopted from Sierra Leone, West Africa. Stacey spent almost three months in Sierra Leone working on the adoptions. This was an unexpected blessing, for Stacey was able to get to know some of the birth family, and learn and enjoy the culture.
